John is a Special Counsel in the property practice in our Melbourne office. His extensive commercial property and property development experience gained in both Australia and overseas enables him to add real value to his clients’ developments and projects.

Over his 30 year career in commercial and property law, John has advised clients on a broad range of legal matters affecting commercial, retail and residential property contracts and transactions.

John has assisted with large marina, tourism and mixed use developments and infrastructure. He has acted for financial institutions on property matters including the enforcement of securities and due diligence, management, leasing and sale of real estate assets and vehicles.

John has negotiated and prepared joint venture, development, infrastructure and facility management agreements and assisted with the establishment, relocation and sale of businesses and franchises.

He has also been involved in the sale and purchase of interests in companies across a broad range of industries including hospitality, motor vehicle, banking, petroleum and commercial property.

Prior to joining Moray & Agnew, John worked in commercial property and development law in Qatar. He has also been a partner in another national law firm and headed the property team in both that firm, and other firms.
